HOLIDAY, FISHING AND LEISURE
The holiday destination Nesje Fort is conveniently located at the mouth of the Sognefjord.
Here you can enjoy nice holidays with mountain hikes or fishing trips on the fjord.
In total we have 5 cabins for rent, space for motorhomes and several good boats for rent for fjord fishing.
The facility is well equipped for fishing, with solid quay facilities and good facilities to take care of the catch.

WAR HISTORY
From fortifications to coastal artillery
Early in World War II, the Germans built one of the largest fortifications on the West Coast: Nesje fort, or “Sognefjord”, as the Germans call it. The area was requisitioned by the German armed forces, and the Nesje family was forcibly relocated from the farm and land. The fort is located west of Rysjedalsvika. Together with the large facilities with a torpedo battery on Rutletangane on the south side, the fort was to guard the entrance of the Sognefjord.
After World War II, the fort was taken over by the Norwegian coastal artillery, and used as a training ground for the Home Guard. The Home Guard was formally closed down in 2005, and since 2015 Nesje Fort has been in the Nesje family’s own.
